Our Story
In July 1994, Jeanie Kortum founded A Home Away From Homelessness in partnership with the National Park Service as a respite for homeless children living in shelters. Each year, in Marin, San Francisco, and Oakland, Home Away serves more then 250 homeless and formerly homeless children and their families through 3 complimentary programs – The Beach House, The School House and The Youth Leadership Program.
