I am a Fighter

I have been a fighter my whole life. I almost felt like I was a boxer in the ring trying to fight my opponent. There’s an old saying that says ‘You lose something, you gain something”. I had wins and losses in my life. I never really knew what that meant until I lost my father emotionally and when I became homeless. What I gained in my life later meant much more to me than I what I lost in my life in the past.

When I was a little girl, my father uses to drink and come home drunk. A lot of times when my father was drunk, he would hit my mother. I would watch my father hit my mother and I was so scared that I would run to the bathroom to hide away from the pain. Every time I would do my normal routine of hiding in the bathroom with my little brother until it was over.
