Youth Leadership Program Assistant
Sonia Belasco was born in Washington, D.C., and received her B.A. from University of Maryland, College Park in English. She joined Home Away’s staff in 2009 after completing her M.F.A. in Creative Writing at California College of the Arts.
She wears many hats as the Youth Leadership Program Assistant, acting as a tutor, mentor, case manager and cook. When she’s not at Home Away, she’s channeling her passion for all things culinary by writing food trend reports for the San Francisco-based marketing consulting firm Center for Culinary Development. In her rare free time, she writes young adult fiction, and is currently at work on her second novel.
