The Youth Leadership program was born out of the vision of youth who had graduated from The School House and voiced a desire for Home Away to provide a program for older teens to help them maintain their academic, social and emotional gains. The overall goal of the program is to break the cycle of poverty that many of these young people have endured by building skills and confidence to succeed in high school. Students attend the program four days a week to work on academics, participate in support groups and partake in skill-building workshops that enhance their employment, social and critical thinking skills.
