A Home Away From Homelessness was an “impulse of the heart” that has grown into a non-profit organization that nurtures and supports the needs of homeless and formerly homeless children and families in San Francisco and Marin. Located in Fort Mason and the Marin Headlands, four “homes” provide a physical, emotional and spiritual break for children living in dire situations. Home Away from Homelessness has received the Silver SPUR Award from the San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association along with many other commendations and awards.
